Ohhhhhh, JoLoves LOVES this giveaway from the stylish but budget conscious Specsavers.

Oh, love them. Almost wish I didn't get laser.
The www.specsavers.com.au site has a spiffy new tool for ‘virtually’ trying on glasses (and it is also very good for those of you who can’t see at all without your glasses. I feel your pain). It is a digital mirror if you like, and a way of trying on hundreds of frames before you set foot anywhere near the shops, or taking a screen grab to send to your more stylish mates for them to give you an instant thumbs up or thumbs down.
This week on JoGirl, one winner scores two pairs of glasses with single vision lenses – up to a total value of $499, depending on the frames you choose. Fun! Oh, and you can order glasses with plano (no prescription) lenses from Specsavers, so you can enter even if you’re not blind as a bat.
To enter, simply visit www.specsavers.com.au, then leave a comment below on my blog in the comments section – in 25 words or less what you like best about the Specsavers digital mirror.
Remember, only people subscribed to the JoGirl free emails can enter – subscribers, please use the same name + email as your subscription when leaving your comment. Ohhh, and this totally has nothing to do with the comp, but if you are feeling brave and breezy, email me a pic of you with your dream “virtual” glasses from the digital mirror and I’ll put them up on the blog! (I am clearly not brave enough yet. If someone else emails me one, I’ll put mine up too for public scrutiny and comments!! Deep breath. Safety in numbers and all that).
You’ve still got time to sign up to my emails be eligible to enter - comments must be received by 5pm Friday Feb 12 AEDST. Winner notified by email. Open to Aussie and NZ residents only. Good luck!

This is just so fun. I’m not afraid to try on silly specs plus I can see just what shapes suit my face (or not!).

As I have decent vision, I’ve never been able to justify the purchase of glasses to satisfy my desire to look artsy and sophisticated. Please help me JoGirl!

What a great idea the digital mirror is for us workers – we can try on 100’s of glasses in the privacy of our home – we can also ask family for their opinion

This is an awesome giveaway.
I have no problems trying on glasses in store myself.
It’s my future husband I have a hard time convincing.
This way I can get him to sit down with a beer, and “try on” glasses (And perhaps he will be able to drive at night time again! Hurray!).

Need new glasses because my boyfriend’s convinced I’m only dating him because I can’t see him properly! He may have something to worry about now I’ve seen the hunky model on the Specsavers website…

This is a lot of fun!
I am a tortoiseshell frame lover so I always find myself trying them on when I go in to a store (even though I must have three or four pairs of tortoiseshell frames lying around the house). For some reason I just don’t try on the colourful ones… so the first thing I did with the “virtual mirror” was to try on colours and shapes I don’t normally try! Now I might venture into the colour section next time I’m in store…

TOO much fun! Have found perfect pair and look more sophisticated, smarter and generally more rad! Perfect accessory for date with bookworm next week. Seriously.

Wow, I’m well and truly overdue for new prescription glasses, was able to find a frame that I like and suits me, now all I need to do is get the presription checked and a tedious task made easy. Thanks Jo Girl.
Amber February 12, 2010 at 4:04 pm
So fun! Finally I can spend all the time I want trying things out without boyfriend yawning and itching to get out of the store!!
(Actually I’d love to be able to treat him to some new specs!)
Cas February 14, 2010 at 4:28 pm
Wow, I’m so impressed with this little gadet. I’m a mummy with 3 little people and taking them with me to choose glasses is insane! My toddler broke my glasses over 18 months ago and I’ve been living in my contact because I couldn’t face picking new ones. This is great. I just went thru heaps and was able to easily work out what I like and what suits me. YAY ME!!!! I’ll be getting new glasses now!!! Thanks JoGirl
